Country Houses and the Great War at Sandy WI

Venue: Sandy Conservative Club, 19 Bedford Road, Sandy SG19 1EL

Time: Tuesday 18 February 10.00 am, refreshments available from 9.45 am

The meeting will start with our AGM. We will keep the formal business as brief as possible. It will be followed by a talk from Adam Smith – Country Houses and the Great War. The outbreak of war in 1914 was a watershed for country houses, with both owners and staff leaving to join the military and many requisitioned by the Red Cross.

Raffle tickets £1.00. Bring and Buy table.
